0:10

hey guys welcome back to the Beyond hope

0:12

project my name is Jason Tharp the

0:13

champion of Hope and I have a good

0:17

episode in here and before we get

0:18

started first off I just want to get

0:19

some thank you out of the way I want to

0:21

thank you for showing up today I want to

0:22

thank you for listening to this um I

0:25

guarantee that there's going to be

0:26

something in here that's going to be

0:27

relatable like always I really want to

0:30

encourage you to hear my story not from

0:32

somebody that is trying to explain

0:34

something to you but uh as if you're

0:37

hearing yourself in my story that's

0:39

really kind of the goal of all of that

0:41

and if you know two people that know two

0:43

people that's all I'm asking you for is

0:45

to share this with at least two people

0:47

um because what we're going to do is

0:48

we're on a mission to spread hope we're

0:50

on a mission to help people see that

0:51

they're not alone to see that the path

0:53

is in front of them and show them the

0:54

path so they can get started and as you

0:57

go down that path you might fail but

0:58

you're not failing you're learning and

1:00

that's what this is all about and that

1:03

is a perfect segue into what we're

1:04

talking about today um I wanted to talk

1:07

about this idea of this it factor and

1:09

how we always hear when we're trying to

1:11

do something is people will say you'll

1:13

see it a lot of times on these singing

1:15

shows or these talent shows or whatever

1:17

where they're like you have the it

1:18

factor and I'm not exactly sure what

1:22

that means um but I have been told that

1:25

from a lot of people that when I speak

1:28

that I have the IT thing or what

1:29

whatever and so I spent a lot of time

1:31

trying to dig through that a lot of it

1:34

was based on just a personal experience

1:37

lately where I was asked to do something

1:39

that was um with a much bigger client

1:43

company than um I usually do I guess and

1:47

it felt a little a little impostor

1:50

syndrome I guess would might be the way

1:52

best way to do it but I started to

1:54

analyze that stuff and start to figure

1:55

out like what all that meant and really

1:57

what I came to the conclusion that came

2:00

to and I wrote it down here so that way

2:02

I could make sure that I summed it up

2:04

the right way uh because usually I do

2:06

just kind of flow but this one I felt

2:08

like I needed to write down just so I

2:09

can make sure I get it right but you're

2:11

going to inspire people by just showing

2:14

up and being

2:15

yourself it's going to be surprising

2:17

especially because when you're standing

2:19

up there and you're doing these things

2:21

you think that you don't have quote

2:23

unquote it but really what you're doing

2:26

is you're showing people the authentic

2:28

side of of life you're really giving a

2:31

bridge to those people that are

2:32

struggling through life to be seen I

2:34

think a lot of times what we're doing is

2:35

we're going through life thinking that

2:37

you know people aren't going to

2:39

understand the stuff I'm going through

2:40

this all seems way too overwhelming my

2:43

job is just pulling me in a thousand

2:45

directions my home life is Wild on top

2:47

of it you know I got a big old commute

2:50

to the office and the world seems more

2:53

divided than ever before and it just all

2:55

seems to be just snowballing and a lot

2:57

of times I think we could feel like the

2:59

wor stuck in a Looney Tunes cartoon

3:01

where we're just running from that

3:02

snowball waiting for it to plow us over

3:05

and then when somebody shows up in front

3:07

of us and just is them is themselves are

3:11

themselves you you're kind of Blown Away

3:12

by it because I think a lot of times

3:15

what it is is that people just are

3:16

shocked by somebody that's not coming in

3:18

with an agenda you know when I show up

3:20

in this or any other thing that you may

3:23

me see me speak at I'm not coming with

3:26

some preconceived notion I do have an

3:29

intention my intention is always to

3:31

provide a power up and how I divide how

3:33

I Define that power up is the ability to

3:35

turn your attention towards your

3:37

intention I want to help you figure out

3:39

a way to turn the attention to what

3:42

you're trying to

3:43

do into that instead of shying away from

3:47

how can we take your your attention and

3:48

focus on is the are the things that I'm

3:51

doing right now in alignment with the

3:53

things that I intend to do and if not

3:55

how can we adjust those things instead

3:57

of like worrying about some sort of past

3:59

memory because they're always going to

4:00

be kind of there hanging out right and

4:03

we're trying to predict the future based

4:05

off of those leftover Parts instead

4:07

being able to be in the present moment

4:09

asking asking

4:10

ourselves is it possible that I'm doing

4:13

everything I can to get toward my

4:14

intented goal that is what I set out to

4:17

do when I'm speaking whether it's this

4:19

or anything else or if I'm writing a

4:21

post on social media or if I'm posting

4:23

something on any Tik Tok or Instagram uh

4:27

just trying to put good in the world and

4:29

that is is really kind of all that my

4:31

goal is is that it hopefully finds

4:33

somebody and that was kind of surprising

4:36

to me if I'm being honest uh that people

4:38

react to it

4:39

because really what it is for me

4:42

personally is it feels a lot like some

4:44

sort of weird therapeutic thing where

4:47

I'm kind of healing myself and putting

4:49

out the things that I wish that somebody

4:51

would have told me when I was struggling

4:52

the most and I guess what I kind of

4:55

quietly do um is send everything out

4:58

with this almost like little blessing

5:00

you know that says I hope this finds the

5:02

right person who needs to hear this when

5:03

they need to hear it um because we're

5:05

all going through these storms and we're

5:07

all going through these battles and

5:09

everybody's battle is different it's

5:11

easy for us to want to write somebody

5:12

off or forget them or

5:15

whatever but that isn't necessarily the

5:18

best way to go about everything I think

5:20

what is the best way is to have a little

5:22

Grace for everybody understanding that

5:23

we're all kind of going through stuff

5:25

and when we can show up and just be us

5:28

you're going to be amazed people are

5:30

actually inspired by that um I was I was

5:34

amazed by that because I really didn't

5:36

know that what I was doing was actually

5:39

that important and not in an ego sense

5:42

um but just from a point of drawn a

5:45

boundary with what I'm willing to accept

5:49

for myself and to step into that world

5:51

of this is what I want to share now

5:53

because it not only makes me feel better

5:55

but I'm hoping that it might help

5:56

somebody else as they're going through

5:58

their stuff and and what has happened

6:01

since doing that has been these these

6:04

gate openings of people that have come

6:06

to me and said like wow like I didn't

6:08

know or you know I've had people come up

6:11

to me and get really mad at me in a

6:13

funny way it wasn't really they were

6:14

seriously mad at me but like that I made

6:16

them feel so much um because they've

6:19

built up walls I think all of us have

6:20

done that recently is we built up these

6:22

walls in what it is is just truly being

6:26

authentic with people understanding that

6:27

everybody's going through stuff if you

6:29

can share your story in a way that shows

6:31

somebody else that they're seen and that

6:33

you are available as a beacon for

6:37

somebody else to see that the path is

6:40

there we just have to step towards that

6:42

path and understand that along this path

6:44

it's going to be hard you know if we

6:46

were to go out into any sort of place

6:48

and say that there's this mountain or or

6:51

some sort of obstacle and you got to get

6:53

over it as fast as you can but you have

6:55

no clue of how to start it's a really

6:57

lonely thing because it's confusing

6:59

you'll just sit there and look at this

7:00

thing and you'll be baffled by like what

7:02

do I do to get over that but then if

7:04

some all of a sudden along the path

7:06

somebody comes that says like oh yeah

7:07

I've seen something like this and you

7:09

know this kind of is what I did and

7:12

hopefully in that thing that I'm

7:14

explaining to you of how I got over this

7:16

obstacle you'll start to see yourself in

7:19

that story which is going to involve you

7:21

being a little creative and a little bit

7:23

of you shutting down those past things

7:25

that you're hanging on to instead of

7:27

like thinking that you can't have a

7:29

vision of a future for yourself you

7:31

because you're living in a past that's

7:33

completely predictable and then taking

7:35

those predictions that are based off of

7:37

things that are probably not true

7:38

anymore and you're trying to project

7:40

onto a future that isn't here either

7:44

you're missing everything that you need

7:46

that's right in this moment to kind of

7:48

get over that part you know so the real

7:51

it factor is that simply being

7:55

you understanding that you are a unique

7:57

creator that your experience is uniquely

8:00

yours but there are lots of people that

8:03

could use your story to help them get

8:06

through what is the biggest thing for

8:08

them right

8:09

now and while your big thing and my big

8:13

thing might be completely different what

8:16

is in that is that shared pain or Joy or

8:22

sadness or any of those other emotions

8:25

that we all have at those moments as

8:27

we're trying to climb out of or through

8:31

something that will help other people

8:33

get over that that hurdle and so what I

8:36

would encourage you to do is maybe you

8:37

are somebody that wants to lead in a

8:40

heart heartfelt matter you want to be a

8:42

part of service to other people it's to

8:44

not be afraid to do that there are no

8:48

answers out there that are going to tell

8:49

you how to do it what I have found is

8:52

that most of the time the things that

8:54

have worked out the best for me was when

8:56

I stopped trying to do what everybody

8:57

else told me I should be doing and I

8:59

started doing what I felt was the right

9:02

thing to do and that really came back to

9:05

what was my value that I wanted to put

9:06

out in the world what did authenticity

9:08

look like to me how do I give myself the

9:12

grace and forgiveness when I'm not

9:13

living up to those or I've let myself

9:15

down in the past to learn to forgive

9:17

myself for past mistakes to understand

9:19

that I can't keep holding on to all this

9:21

stuff and think that I'm building a

9:22

future of where I want to go and getting

9:24

clear on my intention and putting my

9:26

attention towards that and starting to

9:28

move each time and becoming aware of am

9:30

I doing the things right now to move

9:32

towards that and if I'm not how can I be

9:35

more openhearted to myself to allow

9:38

myself the space to learn the lesson and

9:41

then when that when that fail quote

9:44

unquote fail happens to persist enough

9:46

to pick up the next day and reset the

9:49

next day and then when those all come

9:51

together I'm going to feel pretty

9:52

empowered as I start to feel empowered

9:55

that intention can grow and it can

9:57

continue to move because time is moving

9:59

whether we like it or not and just

10:02

getting to your dreams you know is a

10:04

great thing but if you don't if you get

10:06

to your dreams and you don't deal with

10:07

all of those things don't think that

10:09

those things don't follow you too you

10:11

can be in this dream world but still

10:12

surrounded by all kinds of nightmares if

10:14

you don't address the big thing in the

10:17

room which is how can I show up the best

10:19

for myself how can I have the it factor

10:22

for myself and those things start to

10:26

come together when you realize that your

10:28

story matters that you matter that

10:30

everything that you're going through

10:31

everybody else has that shared thing and

10:34

they're going to have their own opinion

10:36

about it and some people are going to

10:37

want to tear you down but that's not

10:39

about you that's about them and yeah

10:43

you'll find your people and it may take

10:45

a lot of

10:46

tries but it you keep showing up for

10:49

yourself you'll start building that

10:51

future out that all along you've been

10:53

looking for and it's pretty amazing when

10:55

that starts to happen because it's more

10:58

than likely not going to be all the work

11:00

that you've projected for yourself that

11:02

it's supposed to be I'm not saying it's

11:04

gonna be easy but what I mean is it's

11:06

not going to be the allnighters and all

11:08

those things that you think the hustle

11:10

your faces off the The Grind till you

11:12

can't stand it all of those things it's

11:15

not going to be surrounded by all that

11:16

stuff most of the time it's just

11:17

surrounded by just you stepping into the

11:19

stuff you're afraid to share thinking

11:21

that nobody's going to understand but

11:23

that is what the it factor is because

11:26

like I've said many times on here and

11:28

maybe you need to hear this one more

11:30

time there is only one person in this

11:32

world that can do the thing that you can

11:34

do in the exact way you can and that is

11:37

you everybody else wants to tell you

11:40

what you should be doing but they're

11:41

speaking from their expert role of

11:44

knowing themselves not their world world

11:47

of knowing who you are you're the only

11:49

one that knows what's going on inside

11:51

your head and who and what you are and

11:54

what you can bring to this world if you

11:56

can be brave enough to bring that it to

11:59

the the world I believe that you're

12:00

going to find lots of other people that

12:02

are going to be attracted to that and

12:03

the beauty of it is is that they've been

12:05

there all this whole time and um waiting

12:08

for you to see exactly what they have

12:11

been seeing and they're going to be the

12:13

foundation people and they're going to

12:14

be the people that have been there and

12:17

you're going to be amazed and it will be

12:19

amazing to see you come to life as you

12:22

start to believe in yourself and you

12:24

find Hope and you get that spark to move

12:27

and you find that path and then go go

12:29

along that path and be brave enough to

12:30

fail and once you fail realize that you

12:32

didn't actually fail you've been

12:33

learning and this is your new starting

12:35

point to pick it back up and move

12:37

forward with it and this is what life is

12:40

it's constantly showing up for yourself

12:43

so that is the it factor and I hope that

12:46

you find it for yourself because it does

12:48

exist so guys as we wrap this up again

12:53

if you know two people if you got

12:55

anything out of this share this with

12:57

somebody this is how this is going to

12:59

grow we need your help we appreciate you

13:01

putting these together isn't easy we're

13:03

all working hard over here to make sure

13:05

that these all sound good look good and

13:08

are hitting the right notes so if you

13:09

could just share this with other people

13:11

and uh one last thing before we go life

13:14

is tough and being a human isn't easy

13:16

but you're doing a great job just keep

13:18

doing what you're doing showing up for

13:19

yourself bringing your it factor to

13:22

today because your it factor is going to

13:24

make somebody else find theirs hope this

13:27

helps power up
